Liberty High School’s Sober Grad Program took center stage on June 9th, 2023, as part of the post-graduation celebrations. In a truly memorable event filled with food, games, and laughter, 145 graduating seniors came together for a joyous celebration of their achievements, all while fostering a culture of responsibility and safety. The activities ranged from the hilarity of sumo wrestling and the thrill of the dunk tank to the competitive spirit of jousting. Betsy McFarland, the dedicated chairman of the Sober Grad Program, worked tirelessly alongside the countless parents and volunteers who donated their time and energy toward preparing and hosting this celebration.
Among the night’s highlights was the raffle giveaway of a 2014 Nissan Sentra, donated by Own A Car. Mahde Jawad, General Manager of Own A Car, was honored to collaborate with Betsy on this event. The anticipation and excitement mounted as the graduates waited to find out who would drive away in their very own vehicle. The lucky winner was a student named Jesse, who was ecstatic to receive this incredible graduation gift.
